CHILI A LA KING (NCTS BLUE RIBBON WINNER) | |
3 lbs. of lean hamburger 1 lg. onion, chopped 3 cloves of garlic, chopped 1 sm. bell pepper, chopped 2 celery stems chopped 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) peeled whole tomatoes 1 (16 oz.) jar of Tabasco 7 spice chili recipe (original or spicy) 2 (8 oz.) cans of tomato sauce SPICE INGREDIENTS: 4 tbsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. cumin 1 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 4 drops of Tabasco hot sauce 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. salt 1 (15 oz.) can ranch style beans Brown hamburger until no longer pink. Drain excessive fat. Add chopped vegetables, tomatoes, Tabasco 7 spice chili recipe and tomato sauce. I rinse each can with water and add that too. That is approximately 2 1/4 cups of water. Stir the meat and sauces. Now begin adding spices. Stir well after all the spices have been added. Turn heat to medium low. Cook for 2 1/2 hours stirring occasionally. Add beans during last thirty minutes of cooking. |
