CRUSTY BEEF, CHEESE AND NOODLE | |
2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 chopped onion 1 lb. fine noodles, cooked and drained 4 (10 1/4 oz.) cans meatless tomatoes 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded or grated 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. seasoning salt 2 lbs. ground beef 1 tsp. salt Heat oil, add onion and cook until golden brown. Add meat and cook until it loses its red color, stirring and breaking meat up. Add tomato sauce and salt and heat through. Arrange in casserole half of noodles, half of sauce, half of cheese. Sprinkle with seasoning salt. Make another layer of noodles, sauce and cheese. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Top should be nicely browned. Makes a large casserole. 8 to 12 servings. |
