HOMEMADE VEGETABLE SOUP 
Beef bone
1 beef bouillon cube (optional)
1 c. sliced fresh okra or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sliced okra
3 med. ears fresh corn, cut from ears or 2/3 c. canned corn
3 fresh tomatoes, chopped
3 c. shredded cabbage
3 med. carrots, sliced
3 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. bacon or fatback drippings

Place all ingredients in 6 quart saucepot. Add 1 quart water. Bring to a boil; reduce to medium heat; cover. Cook 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve with cornbread. Makes 4 servings.
