ANGEL CRISPS (COOKIES) 
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening (half butter)
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugars, shortening, egg, and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Form into balls. Dip top half in water, then in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down in center with thumb. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
