PRUNE CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. white sugar 1 c. Wesson oil 3 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. salt 1 c. prunes (cooked and mashed) 1 c. nuts Beat oil and sugar, add eggs and beat. Mix spices and flour. Add salt, soda and buttermilk. Mix well. Add prunes and vanilla last. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. PRUNE CAKE SAUCE: 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. white Karo syrup 1/4 c. butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla Bring to boil for 3 minutes (after hard boiled, start spreading on warm cake). |
