DUTCH APPLE BALLS 
Found this recipe in Holland, Michigan. These are very good.

2 c. milk
4 eggs, separated, room temperature
4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
4 McIntosh apples, peeled, cored and diced
3/4 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Set aside. With electric beater, beat yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly. Fold in egg whites. Form into a ball with tablespoon and drop into 375 degree Crisco. Fry until golden, turning once. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sift powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar mixture over balls.

NOTE: Sugar can be placed in a paper bag and balls can be shaken in it.
