TEXAS SHEET CAKE & FROSTING 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
1 c. water
3 tsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Sift flour and sugar together. Bring to a boil butter, oil, water and cocoa. Mix well by hand with the flour mixture. DO NOT USE ELECTRIC MIXER. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet with 1 inch sides. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Five minutes before cake is done, start frosting. Pour over hot cake. For buttermilk, add vinegar to regular milk and stir.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 lb. powdered sugar

Bring butter, cocoa and milk to a boil. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Add pecans. Pour over hot cake.
