MOM'S FRIED STEAK 
2 lb. round steak, cut in serving pieces
Garlic powder
Flour
Salt & pepper
Crisco or other oil

Sprinkle each piece of steak with garlic powder, salt, pepper and flour. Pound the meat with meat mallot until seasonings etc. are into the meat. Melt shortening in a medium hot skillet. Brown each piece on both sides. Reduce heat. Put all meat into skillet and cook slowly until tender. You'll need to check this often to move meat from bottom to top as it cooks. Remove to platter and keep warm in oven. Make pan gravy using drippings to serve with meat.
