NUTMEG CAKE 
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
3 beaten eggs or egg substitute
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream or plain yogurt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together butter, shortening and sugar. Add and beat eggs. Add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and nutmeg. Add vanilla. Blend all together and fold in sour cream. Bake for 40 minutes in foil lined or greased 13x9x2 inch pan.

BROILED FROSTING FOR NUTMEG CAKE:

10 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut

Mix all ingredients together and spread evenly onto nutmeg cake. Broil under broiler watching carefully to prevent burning.

Note: Frost can be spread while cake is warm. Frosting should be golden brown color.
