ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. candied orange slices, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
2 c. nuts, chopped
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
4 eggs

Add half of the flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to chopped fruit and nuts; set aside. Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs and buttermilk and 1 teaspoon baking soda and remaining flour. Add chopped candy and flour mixture. Blend. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes in well-greased and floured tube or bundt pan. After done, pour glaze over cake while still in pan.

GLAZE:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. orange juice

Mix. Pour over cake as soon as it comes out of oven. Cool cake completely even overnight before removing from pan. Keeps well and freezes well.
