BEEF STROGANOFF 
2 lb. lean family steak, cut in thin strips
2 tbsp. butter
1 onion, chopped
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 c. red wine
1 c. water
2 tsp. paprika
2 pkg. Lawry's stroganoff mix
1 (8 oz.) sour cream or more
1 lb. wide egg noodles, cooked
1 tbsp. butter

Saute beef strips in butter until brown. Add onion, mushrooms, wine, water and paprika. Cover and simmer 1 hour or until tender. Add water to make 3 1/2 cup liquid. Add stroganoff, mix and stir in well. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.

Drain noodles. Toss with a little butter. Place in a large flat bowl. Stir 8 oz. sour cream into stroganoff. Use more if you like. Spoon over noodles.

McCormick's mix is OK, but but does NOT compare to Lawry's. Lawry's was the best. Where can I buy the Lawry's Stroganoff Mix. My family loved stroganoff when it was made with Lawry's.
