BLACK FOREST BARS 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. (10 oz. jar) maraschino cherries, drained and halved
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. walnuts
Frosting

Combine first 9 ingredients; blend until moistened at low speed. Stir in cherries, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Spread in either jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with sides ungreased. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter over low heat in medium saucepan. Add next ingredients and blend until smooth. Spread frosting while still warm over cooled bars. Yields: 3 to 4 dozen bars.
