2 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
2 1/2 c. quick oats
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. nuts (opt.)
1/2 c. peanut butter (opt.)

Mix sugar, milk, butter and cocoa together. Cook for 1 1/2 minutes; start counting when mixture reaches a rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Beat well until well blended by hand. Spoon onto wax paper and let cool until set.
