ORANGE SALAD WITH POPPY SEED
DRESSING
 
This is good mid-winter when oranges are plentiful and sweet and tomatoes are too firm and tasteless.

SALAD:

Romano, spinach or any favorite greens
Oranges sectioned
Sweet onion rings or avocado slices

DRESSING:

1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard

Sift and add to oil mixture as follows:

1 c. salad oil
1 tbsp. juice & pulp from grated onion (not needed if onion rings are used in salad)
1/3 c. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. poppy seeds

Dressing makes enough to serve 12. Can be stored in refrigerator.
