6 WEEK BRAN MUFFINS 
6 c. bran (oat bran, bran cereals, etc.)
2 c. boiling water
1 c. melted shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. honey
4 eggs
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over 2 cups of bran and let stand while assembling other ingredients. Mix melted shortening and honey. Add rest of bran, eggs and buttermilk; add flour, soda and salt and then the bran with water. Bake in amount needed at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Remaining amount will refrigerate up to 6 weeks.
