CHOCOLATE NUT CRUNCH 
2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
3 well beaten egg yolks
1 1/2 to 1 oz. unsweetened sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 stiff beaten egg whites

Combine crumbs and nuts. Line bottom of pan (9 inch square) with 1/2 crumb mixture. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, chocolate, and vanilla; mix well. Fold in stiff beaten egg whites. Spread over crumb mixture. Top with remaining mixture. Chill overnight. Cut into squares.
