AUNT MELL'S POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter, softened
1/4 c. Crisco shortening
5 eggs, added 1 at a time
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Cream sugar, shortening and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk, about 1/3 at a time. Add flavorings. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Test for doneness. Sometimes it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes until done.
