1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. mace
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Combine dry ingredients and add to shortening mixture. Beat 3 to 4 minutes until well blended and smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 80 minutes. Make sure and grease and flour your pan well.
