1/2 c. Crisco
1 stick butter
1 2/3 c. sugar
5 lg. eggs
3 c. plain flour
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream Crisco and butter. Add sugar, cream well. Add eggs and flour alternately. Beat well and add vanilla. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes and sift flour before measuring. Add salt and baking powder to flour mixture.
