CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE 
1 c. butter (softened)
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. hot water
3 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. (level) soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Stir in by hand 1/2 to 3/4 cup more flour to make a rather stiff dough.

Cream butter, sugars, salt and vanilla. Add eggs and hot water.

Sift flour and soda together. Add gradually. By hand, add chocolate chips and more flour to make a stiff dough. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake.
