JAM CAKE | |
1 c. butter 1 1/3 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. blackberry jam 1 c. pear preserves 1 c. strawberry preserves 1 c. cherry preserves 1 c. raisins 1 c. black walnuts 1 c. English walnuts or pecans 1 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice 3 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. cocoa Melt butter; add sugar. Beat eggs in separately. Mix buttermilk with soda and add to butter and sugar. Add jam, raisins, preserves, nuts, spices and cocoa; mix well. Add flour and vanilla; mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Makes 3 layers. |
