ONION CHEESE CASSEROLE 
2 slices bread
3 med. onions, sliced
1/3 lb. sharp cheese, shredded
1 egg
1/2 c. milk (approximately)
Salt and pepper

Toast bread and butter it. Break each piece into 4 or 5 pieces and place in bottom of greased casserole. Cook onions in salted water until tender. Drain and spread over toast. Cover completely with shredded cheese. Put egg in measuring cup; beat slightly and add enough milk to make 3/4 cup and pour over mixture. Bake at 325 degrees about 45 minutes (covered). Should be soft, not dry.
