VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
2 qts. water or beef broth
2 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 large potato, chopped
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 stick butter or olive oil
salt & pepper, to taste
1 t. crushed red pepper
1 medium can tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 cup spaghetti or macaroni
celery tops
3/4 cup cabbage, chopped

Brown ground beef in butter or olive oil; add garlic and onion; cook for a minute or two and set aside. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook over low heat for 1 hour.

Bring to a boil; add macaroni after boiling point and then serve when macaroni is tender.

May be made in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.
