GINGER CREAM BARS 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. lard
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
1 c. hot water containing 1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream sugar and lard. Add 2 eggs and mix well. Continue adding the remainder of ingredients alternately mixing well.

Bake at 350 degrees in greased pan, 15 x 10 1/2 x 1, or 2 (9 x 13) pans.

Spread powdered sugar frosting with lemon flavor on cooled bars.
