GINGER CREAM BARS 
2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. light molasses
1/2 c. boiling water
1 egg

Place all ingredients in mixing bowl and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread in greased 10 x 15 inch pan (jelly roll pan). Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until it springs back when touched lightly in center. Frost while warm.

ORANGE FROSTING FOR GINGER BARS: 2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 tbsp. orange juice

Beat until smooth and creamy.
