17 x 11 inch pan, 2 inches deep. Brown 3 lbs. ground beef, add 1 can tomato sauce, 2 onions, 1/2 bunch parsley and salt and pepper to taste. 1 1/2 lb. large macaroni (prepare as directed) CREAM SAUCE: 9 c. milk (bring to hot point) 1 c. flour 1 c. cornstarch Dilute flour and cornstarch with 2 cups milk and beat with mixer. Add 3 eggs and beat a little longer. Then slowly pour into hot milk to get thick. Put in 1/2 stick butter. Butter the pan. Then put 1/2 macaroni and 4 tablespoon cream sauce. Then put all ground beef in. Add the rest of the macaroni and the rest of the cream sauce. Bake at least 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees until golden and brown. if you want top with grated cheese. |
