SANTA FE TRAIL CORN BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 c. water
1 egg, beaten
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
8 oz. sour cream
1 can chopped green chiles, drained

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 8-inch square baking pan. Combine dry ingredients; mix well. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Serves warm. Makes 9 servings.
