CHOCOLATE LAYER BARS | |
2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) morsels or mini chips 1 (8 oz.) pkg.; cream cheese 2/3 c. (5.3 oz.) can evaporated milk 1 c. chopped nuts 1/2 tsp. almond extract 3 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. butter, softened 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. almond extract Combine chocolate chips, cream cheese and evaporated milk in saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chips are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in nuts and almond extract. Blend well and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in large mixing bowl. Blend with mixer until coarse crumbs. Press half of mixture in 13x9 inch pan. Spread chocolate mixture over. Sprinkle rest of crumbs over filling. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes. |
