CHOCOLATE LAYER BARS 
BOTTOM LAYER:

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

In top of double boiler cook butter, sugar, cocoa, and vanilla until blended. Add egg, stirring constantly; cook 5 minutes. Add cracker crumbs, coconut and nuts. Press in a 9-inch square buttered pan. Cool.

MIDDLE LAYER:

1/2 c. butter, softened
3 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. vanilla instant pudding mix
2 c. powdered sugar

Cream butter until fluffy. Mix milk and pudding mix together; add to butter and blend. Add sugar, a little at a time, and beat until smooth. Spread over the cooled bottom layer. Let set until firm.

TOP LAYER:

4 oz. semi-chocolate chips
1 tbsp. butter

Melt butter and chocolate in top of double boiler. Cool slightly and spread over the middle layer. Cut into bars and refrigerate.
