4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 6 tbsp. cocoa 2/3 c. Crisco oil 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. vanilla In a large bowl, blend and mix flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and cocoa. Mix with a fork. Make 3 holes in the mixture. In 1 hole, put vanilla; in the next hole, put vinegar; in the next, put the oil. Over the whole mixture, pour 2 cups of cold water. Blend mixture with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Try spoonfuls of batter to see size of gobs desired. FILLING: 2 sticks butter, softened 1 c. granulated sugar Pinch of salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. milk Blend thoroughly softened butter and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add milk slowly with electric mixer on low speed. Then on high speed until fluffy. |
