SHORT BREAD 
1 lb. butter
5 c. flour
1 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream sugar and butter, add flour, 1 cup at a time, then knead it by hand as you mix it. Move it to a board, spread it on cookie sheet (jelly roll pan). Make holes with a fork and flute the edges with a fork. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 1 hour approximately (depending on oven).
