WALNUT SHORT BREAD 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 c. ground nuts

Cream butter and sugar, beat in lemon peel, vanilla and salt. Combine flour with nuts. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Press dough evenly into 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 325 degrees until cookies begin to brown. Cut into 2 inch squares. Remove to rack to cool. Store in air-tight container. Makes three dozen.
