FRENCH APPLE PIE
5 1/2 c. sliced, cored and peeled apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. butter, room temp.
Ready made graham cracker crust
1 lg. egg yolk, slightly beaten

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brush bottom and sides of crust with egg yolk. Bake on baking sheet until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

Combine apples and lemon juice. Toss lightly. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg with apples. Mix well and spoon into crust.

Mix remaining ingredients in food processor until crumbly. Sprinkle this topping mixture over apples.

Bake on baking sheet until topping is golden and filling is bubbly, approximately 50 minutes.

Cool and serve at room temperature or slightly warmed in microwave.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
