FRAN'S EASY FRENCH APPLE PIE 
Fill an 8 or 9-inch pie pan 2/3 full of sliced apples. Sprinkle apples with a mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

In a bowl, cream together 3/4 cup butter with 1 cup sugar. Add 1 cup flour, 1 egg, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and a pinch of salt. Spread flour mixture over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
