LAYERED SALAD 
1 head lettuce, torn
1/2 c. green peppers, cut up
1/2 c. celery, cut up
Thinly sliced onion rings
Pkg. frozen peas
Cheddar cheese and bacon bits

DRESSING:

2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
1 tbsp. wine vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar

Make day ahead. Place first five ingredients, in order given, in a bowl. Mix dressing and pour over salad like frosting. Do not mix it in. Next put grated Cheddar cheese over dressing and lastly bacon bits. Store in refrigerator overnight. When serving just spoon out as is. Do not mix as regular salad.
