JELLO POPCORN | |
4 qts. popped corn 1/2 c. corn syrup 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1 sm. box flavored Jello 1 tsp. baking soda Butter a large cake pan or roaster. Pop popcorn. You will need 4 quarts. Keep it warm (200 degrees) in low oven while you make the following syrup. In medium saucepan, boil corn syrup, sugar, salt, butter, and cream of tartar. Stir constantly. Lower heat when it reaches a boil and quickly stir in Jello. Cook to the soft ball stage, it won't take long. It's better to under cook than to over cook. Add baking soda, remove from heat. Pour syrup over hot popcorn and mix well. Bake in greased roaster at 200 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 20 minutes to prevent burning. When cool, store in airtight container. |
