KIELBASA SOUP | |
3 quarts water 1-1/2 lbs. beef kielbasa, cut in 1/4 inch slices 3 stalks celery, cut in small pieces 3 med onions, cut into 8 pieces each 4 med potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes 3 carrots, cut into small pieces 1/2 c. barley 1/2 c. lentils 1/2 c. split peas 1 (28 oz.) can of whole or diced tomatoes 1 (15 oz.) can beef bouillon broth 2 beef bouillon cubes 1-1/2 tsp oregano 1-1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper Add all ingredients except potatoes to the boiling water. When water boils again, reduce to medium heat and simmer for 1-1/2 hours. When carrots are tender, add potatoes. Cook until potatoes are tender. Serve with a crusty bread and butter. |
