GERMAN TWISTS | |
1 c. sour cream 2 tbsp. shortening 3 tbsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 egg, beaten 3 1/2 c. flour 1 pkg. dry yeast, soaked Brown sugar Cinnamon Bring 1 cup sour cream to a boil. Take from stove and add shortening, sugar, soda and salt. Cool to lukewarm, then add egg, yeast and flour. Mix. Let dough stand 5 minutes. Roll, spread with butter. Put brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on half of dough. Fold over and cut in 1-inch strips, then twist. Put on greased cookie sheet. Let rise 1 hour and 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees. |
