BANANA BREAD 
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed bananas, ripe
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Sift dry ingredients together. Cream sugar and shortening thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add bananas and beat until light. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Beat until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Bake in greased 9 x 5 at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes.
