BUCKEYE BALLS 
1 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/2 c. lightly salted butter, room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (16 oz.) pkg. confectioners' sugar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
2 tbsp. solid vegetable shortening

Blend well peanut butter, butter and vanilla. (Melt peanut butter and butter, makes it easier.) Add sugar. Roll into balls. Melt chocolate pieces and shortening. With toothpick, dip balls part way in chocolate mixture. Place on cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens. (Freezes well.)
