MINT BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. molasses
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
1/2 c. chopped walnut meats
1/2 tsp. vanilla
16 chocolate peppermint patties, broken

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and cool. Add molasses and sugar and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour and salt together. Add along with nut meats and vanilla. Mix well. Line an 8 x 8 inch pan with wax paper. Grease.

Pour 1/2 of mixture into pan. Sprinkle with mints, cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan and cut into 16 squares.
