BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
6 slices bread
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 c. milk
2 c. grated cheddar cheese (sharp)
1 lb. sausage

Butter large casserole dish. Crumble sausage, brown and drain well. Cut crusts from bread, lightly butter one side of each slice, then cube. Spread evenly in bottom of baking dish. Sprinkle sausage over bread. Sprinkle cheese over sausage.

Beat eggs well with milk. Add salt, pepper, and mustard and mix well. Pour mixture over ingredients in baking dish. Refrigerate at least 8 hours, covered.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put covered dish in oven and bake until top is brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean, approximately 50-60 minutes. Serve with fruit.

I usually serve croissants with it even though there is bread in the casserole. Or serve biscuits. Canned biscuits are too heavy. If you don't want to make your own, buy the Pillsbury frozen biscuits. They can be found in the dairy section, 1 dozen per box and they just have to heat about 10 minutes.
