CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
4 teaspoons butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Combine sugar, cocoa, milk, butter, and salt in a medium sauce pan. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Once mixture reaches a full rolling boil cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, then add peanut butter and vanilla extract. Beat with a spoon, while beating fudge will begin to thicken. When fudge consistency changes pour into buttered pan, I suggest an 8x8, then refrigerate to allow to set.

The recipe results in excellent P&B Fudge. What modifications are needed to double the batch? I get perfect results using the recipe as is, but the fudge doesn't set correctly when I use 4 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 cup milk, etc. I've tried doubling, tripling, quadrupling the boiling time, but the fudge either turns out undercooked or overcooked. Any guidance from the pros would be appreciated.
