QUAKER CORN BREAD 
This recipe is from the Quaker corn meal box.

2 cups corn meal
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
8 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted vegetable shortening

Preheat oven to 425°F.

In large bowl, mix dry ingredients and set aside In medium bowl combine milk and eggs, mixing well. Stir as you gently pour in melted shortening.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until smooth, but do not over mix. Takes about a minute.

Bake in an 9x13-greased pan in preheated 425°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

Serve with butter and honey.
