BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. mixed shortening (1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. Crisco and 1/2 c. butter)
1 lb. light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
5 lg. eggs
3 c. plain flour
Pinch of salt
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar well. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Fold in nuts. Pour into WELL GREASED tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
