HOT ROLLS 
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. rapid rise yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water (115 degrees)
1 egg, beaten
3 c. flour
Butter to brush tops

Mix together boiling water, vegetable shortening, sugar, salt. Set aside, let cool. Mix yeast with lukewarm water. Add mixes together. Beat egg. Add to mixture. Gradually add flour (1/2 cup at a time). Let rise 1 hour. Place on cookie sheet. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake 16 to 18 minutes at 350 degrees until browned.
