CONGO BARS 
2 3/4 c. presifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. melted butter
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts
12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Onto a piece of waxed paper, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Pour butter into mixing bowl. Add sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla; add flour mixture, beating well until smooth. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips; spread into pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool; cut into 3 1/2 x 2-inch bars.

Makes 24.
