CANDIED YAMS 
3 lg. yams (whole and unpeeled)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. water
Maple syrup to taste

Cook yams in boiling water. When cool, peel and slice. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Place yams in a casserole and add sauce. Bake until heated through.
