1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening 1 egg 1 c. chopped dates 2 c. Rice Krispies 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped nuts (preferably black walnuts) Mix together sugar, shortening, egg, and dates. Cook 10 minutes. Stir while cooking. Pour this mixture into large buttered bowl. Let cool until cool enough to handle. Add cereal, vanilla, and nuts. Mix together. Shape into finger lengths. Roll in shredded coconut or confectioners sugar. |
