BLACKBERRY PINWHEEL COBBLER 
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. self rising flour
1/3 c. milk
3 c. fresh blackberries
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Combine sugar and water in saucepan, stir well, cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Set aside.

Place butter in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish in a 350 degrees oven for 3 minutes or until butter melts, set aside. Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add milk stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead lightly. Roll dough into a 12 x 9 inch rectangle, spread blackberries over dough, sprinkle with cinnamon, roll up jelly roll fashion, beginning with long end. Cut dough into 12 (1 inch) slices. Place slices cut side down in butter. Pour syrup around slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until golden.
